After receiving salvation, the next step for a follower of Jesus is believers' baptism. While baptism itself is not salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9), it involves immersing a believer in water as an act of obedience that symbolizes their faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior. It represents dying to sin, burying the old way of life, and rising to a new life in Christ Jesus.
